Counseling for Students

We welcome our students new to Raymond B. Stewart Middle School and welcome back returning students!  Although summer was short, we look forward to a successful school year full of learning!

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS are below for (a) everyone, (b) for students transfering from within Florida, and (c) for students transferring from a different state.

(A) ALL MUST PRESENT THESE ITEMS:

  1. PARENT/GUARDIAN’S DRIVER’S LICENSE (can serve as Proof of Residency)
  2. PROOF OF RESIDENCY IN THE STEWART MIDDLE SCHOOL ZONE (if Driver’s License address isn’t current) — current utility bill, lease agreement, house contract etc. showing parent/guardian’s name and physical address (PO Boxes are notacceptable)
  3. 504 Plan/IEP (if applicable) – current IEP & Psychological report.
  4. REPORT CARD/TRANSCRIPT FROM LAST SCHOOL ATTENDED

(B) IN-STATE (but not Pasco County) TRANSFERSStudents transferring from another Florida school must present these additional items upon registration:

  1. IMMUNIZATION RECORDS:
4 DPT + 1 booster 3 POLIO + 1 booster
2 MMR Hepatitis B Series
TDAP Booster (7th Grade) Variciella (chicken pox) – 2 vaccines for 6th gr.

(C) OUT-OF-STATE TRANSFERSStudents entering a Pasco County School for the first time must have all 5 of the above items PLUS  the following items:

  1. CURRENT PHYSICAL – dated and signed by a physician within the last 12 months and specifies heart, lungs and blood pressure.  Needs to be more than a statement that reads “child is in good health or normal”.
  2. VERIFICATION OF BIRTH – Birth Certificate
  3. STUDENT’S SOCIAL SECURITY CARD

  1. Deadline: May 18. Google’s “Do you love Science?” Award   (Up to $50,000). Google Science Fair is a global online competition open to individuals or teams from 13 to 18 years old.

April 15 deadline:  2016 Barron Prize Each year, the Barron Prize honors 25 outstanding students between the ages of 8 and 18. Course Card Collection

Counselors are collecting course cards for next year’s classes. We’ve gotta catch ’em all!

8th grade students should have all course cards in to Mrs. Pinsky — if yours is not submitted, please turn it in now.  If you have not chosen electives, your electives will be picked for you.  Set yourself up for success in high school by selecting classes that support your interests.

6th & 7th grade students will receive their cards this week– they are due upon our return from Spring Break.

5th grade students’ course card choices are due to elementary schools on Friday  3/18
