Pasco Food & Nutrition Services visited the State Capitol on January 30th during the 2018 Legislative Action Caucus (LAC) to meet with legislators regarding several bills. Topics that were discussed were those pertaining to school gardens and prohibiting students from leaving campus during lunch. Senator Wilton Simpson, Representative Daniel “Danny” Burgess, Representative Amber Mariano, and the office of Speaker, Jared Ochs, for Richard Corcoran were all very supportive of our child nutrition programs. We invited them all to visit Pasco County Schools soon to see firsthand the impact our programs have on our students. Their support is paramount to the successful operations of our department and we are fortunate to have such involved and supportive leaders!
