Book: Essential Elements 2000 Book 1

Mask: Brass and Woodwind players will need a mask with a slit to play instrument.

           Flute players will need a face shield and a baby sock to go on the foot joint

Flute- Your child will need the following supplies for the Middle School:

❏ Brands: Armstrong, Gemeinhardt, and Yamaha

❏ Maintenance Kit: Tuning/cleaning rod and Handkerchief for cleaning

Clarinet Your child will need the following supplies for the Middle School:

❏ Brands: Buffet and Yamaha

❏ Vandoren B45 or Rico Reserve XO w/Rovner ligature (dark)

❏  Maintenance Kit: Handkerchief cleaning swab, Cork grease, Reed guards and Cleaning Brushes

❏ Four Reeds: Vandoren Traditional 3 or 3 ½

Saxophone- Your child will need the following supplies for the Middle School:

❏ Brands: Yamaha

❏ Selmer C* mouthpiece with a Rovner ligature

❏ Neck strap

❏ Maintenance Kit: Neck cleaner, Cleaning Swab, Reed guards

❏ Four Reeds: Vandoren Traditional 3 or 3 ½

Trumpet -Your child will need the following supplies for the Middle School:

❏ Brands: Bach and Yamaha

❏ Bach 3C mouthpiece

❏ Nylon/plastic mouthpiece pouch

❏ Maintenance Kit: Valve oil, Slide grease, cleaning brushes, and Shine Cloth

Trombone- Your child will need the following supplies for the Middle School:

❏ Brands: Bach, Conn, King and Yamaha

❏ Bach 6-1/2 AL mouthpiece -check shank size: sm/lg

❏ Nylon/plastic mouthpiece pouch

❏ Maintenance Kit: Slide oil or Slide cream with a small water bottle, Slide grease, Cleaning brushes, and Shine Cloth

French horn– Your child will need the following supplies for the Middle School:

❏ Brands: Conn, Holton, and Yamaha

❏ Holton Farkas MDC mouthpiece

❏ Nylon/plastic mouthpiece pouch

❏ Maintenance Kit: Valve oil, Slide grease, Cleaning brushes, and Shine cloth

Euphonium- Your child will need the following supplies for the Middle School:

❏ Brands: Bach, Conn, King and Yamaha

❏ Bach 6-1/2 AL mouthpiece small shank

❏ Nylon/plastic mouthpiece pouch

❏ Maintenance Kit: Valve oil, Slide grease, Cleaning brushes, and Shine cloth

Tuba– Your child will need the following supplies for the Middle School:

❏ Conn Helleberg 120S or Bach 18 mouthpiece

❏ Nylon/plastic mouthpiece pouch

❏ Maintenance Kit: Valve oil, Slide grease,  Cleaning brushes, and shine cloth

PERCUSSION SUPPLY LIST  Every percussion student must have his/her own sticks and mallets. The following items will provide the student with a minimum, general assortment of percussion equipment. Sticks and mallets must be brought to all rehearsals, lessons, and performances. Please label all equipment with your child’s initials using a permanent marker or nail polish. For Home: Drum Pad and/or Concert Snare Drum, & Bell kit (2-1/2 octave with stand). Suggested brands for purchasing a concert snare drum: Yamaha, Ludwig, Pearl.

For School:

❏ Percussion stick bag

❏ Snare Drum sticks: Vic Firth “General” 5B

❏ Xylophone/Bell mallets:  medium hard rubber mallet and medium yarn mallets.

❏ Timpani mallets: Vic Firth “General T1”
