Hope everyone is doing well! For the next two months we will be getting ready for our Florida Bandmasters Association (FBA), Music Performance Assessments (MPA). To help you with your planning please include these dates to your calendar:
Symphonic Band Rehearsals – Mondays and Thursdays 1:45pm – 3:45pm
Next week our wind (sax, trumpet ect.) players will start. Percussion will join us February 1st. We are playing some very challenging music and aiming for that Superior at Concert MPA!!
Indoor Guard – Mondays & Thursdays 1:45 – 3:45.
This year we hired a professional choreographer, and the show is looking great! There is a good chance we will have another late rehearsal Thursday, February 1st from 3:30pm – 6:00pm
Solo and Ensemble Students – Wednesdays and Fridays 1:30pm – 2:30pm
Students may use the band room to practice their solo or ensembles. I am also available for help during that time.
All-County Band Concert – January 27 @ Wesley Chapel HS
Come support Lilli and Dominic as they perform with the All-County Band at Wesley Chapel High School. Concert start time is 2pm.
Jazz MPA – February 8th @ Wesley Chapel High School
You will need to find your own transportation to Wesley Chapel High School. We will be wearing our red jazz shirt and black pants. Times will be announced at a later date.
Solo/Ensemble/Percussion MPA @ J.W. Mitchel HS – February 9th
You will need to find your own transportation. Students performing a solo and/or ensemble will need to pay $5 dollars per event, due February 1st. All soloists will need a piano accompanist. Luckily, we have Mrs. Deighton who will teach and provide the piano accompaniment. Her fee is $40 dollars which incudes, 2-3 lessons and the performance. Please pay her before February 1st. Times will be announced at a later date.
Indoor Guard and Guard Solo MPA @ J.W. Mitchel HS – February 9th
You will need to find your own transportation. Students performing a solo will need to pay $5 dollars, due February 1st. Performance will take place in the gym. You won’t want to miss this performance!! More info will be shared as we get closer to the date.
March 14- 15 – Concert MPA @ Wesley Chapel HS or Hernando HS (chaperones needed)
This will be a concert you won’t want to miss! We will take buses and students will need to wear their black concert attire. More info will be shared as we get closer to the date.
