Hello Everyone,
Thank you for a fantastic marching season. Even though we did not receive a Superior at MPA, I am filled with immense gratitude and pride for the outstanding, volunteering and hard work from our students and parents, thank you!! You might have heard the rumors about a football playoff game this Friday, and it is TRUE!!! This come to us as a blessing since we only had 4 varsity home games and it gives our Seniors one last proper home football game. Here is some info to help you in your planning:
Friday Nov. 10th – Band Hoodie Orders Due
It’s not to late to order your band hoodie. Place the order form and payment in the red box.
Friday Nov. 10th – Football Playoff Game
Students will meet on the practice field at 6pm in their show shirt, and guard uniforms. Please let me know if you can help in the stands with hydration and moving equipment. Kick-off is at 7:30pm and we should be done by 10:00pm
Monday Nov. 13th – Band and Guard Rehearsal
Our guard and band rehearsals will change to 1:45pm – 3:45pm, Mondays and Thursdays
November 15th – All County Band Auditions @ Cypress Creek High School
Students auditioning for the All County Band should arrive at Cypress Creek at least 1 hour before their audition time. Times will be posted in the band room once available. Warm-up area and maps will be in the cafeteria. (Just follow the crowd with instrument cases to the cafeteria)
November 15th – Band Pictures (We changed our photo company from last year)
During school we will be taking individual band and guard pictures. Students will wear their uniform. Guard make sure to bring in your guard uniform that day!!
December 8 – Winter Concert @ River Ridge Center for the Arts (River Ridge High School Auditorium)
Hope you can make it to this FANTASTIC CONCERT!! Students will need to arrive by 5:30pm. Concert band students will need to wear their black concert attire which is black dress pants, button up shirt, and black shoes. Jazz students will need to wear their red jazz shirt with black dress pants. Guard will be wearing their uniforms. Doors open at 6:30pm and concert will start at 7pm.
December 9th – NPR Main Street Parade
This is a fun parade where students decorate their instruments and themselves in Christmas lights. We also wear Santa hats instead of our band hats. We will meet at 4:30pm in the band room and we should be back around 8:30pm. If you plan on watching the entire parade please coordinate finding a ride home for your band student. Usually traffic after the parade is really bad.
