Upcoming Raider Competitions and Practices

We have up to four raider competitions, starting this Saturday 2 Oct 2021. Our meets will always take place on Saturday and if we qualify for the state raider meet (final) we will depart school on Friday and compete at Camp Flaming Arrows in Lake Wales Florida. We will travel to Hudson by bus. Most meets end at approximately 2:30 to 3:00 and we normally stop to eat at a fast food restaurant after the meet. The meet dates and times are as follows.

  1. Oct 2, 2021 (Saturday) at Hudson cadets need to be here by 5:45 am.
  2. Oct 16, 2021 (Saturday) at Anclote cadets need to be here by 6:00 am
  3. Oct 30, 2021 (Saturday) at Anclote cadets need to be here by 6:00 am
  4. Nov 11-12, 2021 (Frid-Sat) at Camp Flaming Arrows in Lake Wales, FL. Only if we qualify at the 30 Oct meet in Anclote. Travel to this event will be by parent vehicles (POV).

Our teams consist of 12 cadets in each male, mixed, and female team(s). Our practices are set for Mon, Wed, and Thur after school and Frid morning rope bridge. Practices will end at approximately 5:30 p.m. Cadets participating/competing will be issued OCP uniform for competitions with boots. We need parent support, please sign up for parent volunteer. Raider Summer Workout

Raider Summer Workouts started today 1 July. The days are Tuesdays and Thursdays. Workouts start at 8:00 am and last until approximately 9:30 am. Cadets will receive two hours of community hours for participation. Company triangle and staff leaders are required to participate in teams (drill, raider, JLAB). Plan your morning, set your alarm, and come join the workouts and get fit for raider competitions and improve your health and fitness.

Uniform Wear/Turn-in

May 19th, will be our last uniform grade of the year, so make sure you wear your Class B!

Turn-in uniform if you are not returning to program or graduating. If the unform is dry cleaned great…if not just turn in as is.

Shark Battalion Awards Ceremony

On May 19, 2021, parents/guardians are invited to our Shark Battalion Ceremony in our schools’ gymnasium from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Cadets will receive over 20+ awards from outside agencies, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Military Order of the Purple Heart to name just a few. Cadets are required to participate in this event and it counts for his/her last uniform inspection grade. If not returning next year, you must turn in the uniform NLT on May 23, 2021, which includes seniors. This is a time to celebrate a special event for cadets and share the accomplishments they achieved this year. So please join us during this ceremony!

Obstacle Course Repairs/Construction

Great work by all cadets involved and especially Coach V for your construction expertise on the vertical and angled walls. Special thanks to Vincent James Paszek, Plant Manager, AHS for your outstanding support in providing the materials necessary to make these repairs happen and power tools for construction.

JLAB

Congratulations to the JLAB Team Leader Baclawski and her teammates Cruz, Cruz-Hernandez, and Ghattas! They will be moving on to Level 2. Great job on all of the hard work and making our school and battalion proud!

Voice of Democracy Winner

Congratulations to cadet Baclawski for winning first place and Natalie Ruiz for third place, locally for the Voice of Democracy competition! They will be moving on to see if they will win a place when it comes to our district. Great job on all of the hard work and making our school and battalion proud.
