Your child will be visiting the Odessa Media Center once a week to check out books for their enjoyment.  First Grade  students are allowed to check out two to three books at a time.  Please encourage your child to return their borrowed books the day before they are scheduled to go to the Media Center to ensure their ability to check out new books.

We encourage our students to look for books that interest them and for books that are “just right” for them to read.  “Just right books” are books that they can read mostly on their own.

Students are asked to take care of their Media books and will be responsible for their safe return.

Please encourage your child to keep their Media books in their back packs while they have them.  They will not be forgotten in the back pack and I encourage them to read their books during independent reading.
