Dear Band Parents,
It has been an incredibly eventful third quarter. Our Concert Band earned an Excellent rating at its Music Performance Assessment, and our Jazz Band, Percussion Ensemble, Trombone Ensemble and 9 soloists performed at State MPA with great success. I could not be more proud of the hard work and dedication our students have shown. As we prepare for a strong finish to the school year, I want to share several important dates and provide you with our Band Camp dates for next year.
Upcoming Events & Important Dates
April 7 – Jazz Band Performance
We will open for the Crews Lake Middle School Spring Concert

Students who will be leaving their cars on campus for the weekend should park in their designated student parking space. Chaperones are asked to park at the Hudson Community Health Resource Center. This will be an exciting and memorable experience for our students!!
April 20 After-School Rehearsal Resume
There will be only 3 rehearsals leading up to our final concert, making attendance extremely important. Rehearsals will take place every Monday from 1:45pm – 3:45pm, and students are expected to stay for the entire duration.
May 7 – Spring Concert
Location: The Center for the Performing Arts at River Ridge
Showtime: 7:00pm
Our final time playing together on the concert stage. Come and let yourself be dazzled by these amazing students as they showcase all their hard work. (More details will be provided as we get closer.)
May 8 – Leadership Try-Outs
Any students interested in being part of next year’s leadership team may audition after school. Students will be expected to perform all 12 major scales and demonstrate their best marching fundamentals. Applications will be available after Spring Break.
May 16 – Annual Car Wash Battle
This is our car wash fundraiser, and the competition is on! Which section will be the next to earn their name on the Car Wash Bucket Trophy? Will the Woodwinds or Brass rise to the challenge and take the title from Percussion and Guard, who have already claimed it twice? This a very important fundraiser for our program, and attendance is mandatory as it helps us keep students fair share low and affordable as possible. Locations will be drawn the Monday of the battle.
May 21 – Band Awards Night
A wonderful evening as we celebrate the year by recognizing our outstanding students with awards. We will also announce next year’s leadership team and reveal our upcoming halftime show. This is a potluck-style event, so please bring a dish to share as we enjoy a great feast together. (More details will be provided as we get closer)
Band Camp Dates for 2026-2027
Please plan vacations and travel around these important dates, as attendance is essential:
Percussion & Guard Camp: July 20 -23
Leadership Camp: July 20 – 23
Full Band Camp: July 27 – 31
Band camp is critical time where majority of our halftime show is learned and prepared. Attendance is required for all members to ensure a successful marching season. (Additional details will be provided as we get closer to these dates)
Thank you for your continued support of our band program. I am very much looking forward to finishing the year strong and continuing to build on the success we’ve achieved together.
