K/1/2/3 are exploring the use of foam stamps, rubber stamps, and stamping with other objects in our Printmaking Unit. These skills will be practiced and then applied to a Matisse-inspired still life.
4/5 are having fun drawing wooden art mannequins. These mannequins are posable, and are being placed in student-created still lifes in preparation for observational drawing.
It is that time again- the school art show!! Fine Arts Night is on Tuesday, May 14th. The art show will be on display in the Media Center from 5:00-6:00. Students who have an artwork in the show will receive a special invitation the week prior. Of course, ALL CRES students, families, and friends are invited to attend and support our many talented artists.
The Visual Art district final will be administered to students the week of May 20th.
Art journals and artworks that have not already been sent home will be sent home the last two weeks of May.
The last Fourth grade Art Club meeting is on Wednesday, May 1st.

ThePasco Fine Arts Council, Inc. recognizes rising artists in Pasco County from public, charter, private, and home-schooled networks in this show. The public is invited to view the exhibit which runs from March 6th – March 30th, at the Pasco Fine Arts Council.
The reception and awards ceremony for “Kids ‘n Art” will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, March 10th. Art themed prizes will be awarded to the winners in each grade level category.

Thanks to our parent volunteers who came and assisted classes during clay week! Classes are excited to begin painting their sculptures now.
We just finished our cultural units. K and 1st grade learned about serapes from Mexico, and 2nd-5th studied molas from Central America.
The deadline for 4th and 5th graders to submit an entry for the yearbook cover contest is October 31st. Late entries cannot be accepted. We will keep you posted on who wins!!
