Hello Everyone,
\nIt was great meeting you last Tuesday for \u201cMeet Your Teacher
\nDay\u201d and if we have not met yet I look forward to meeting you. We\u2019ll have a
\nBand Parent Meeting next Thursday. We\u2019ll talk about the band program and make the big announcement for our Out-Of-State Band trip location!! We had a great turnout for band camp last week. If you
\nmissed band camp don\u2019t worry, we are going to have catchup sessions every Tuesday
\nand Thursday after school. Our first football game is coming up (second week of
\nschool) and things will be moving fast. Keep an eye out for HHS Class Act Band emails for helpful information, and come to our meeting, August 14th at 7:00pm.<\/p>\n

\nIf you missed band camp this is
\nyour chance to catch up. We will hold these sessions every Tuesday and Thursday
\nright after school.<\/p>\n
\nTo avoid the dangerous afternoon heat our after-school practices\/rehearsals are Mondays and Thursdays 4:00pm \u2013 6:30pm. Students may stay in the band room after school to do homework or
\npractice. If transportation is an issue, please let me know and we will try to
\nfind a ride. Our practices are part of the grade and are very important to our
\nband\u2019s success. First game is August 22nd.<\/p>\n
\nThis will be a very important
\nmeeting where you will learn about upcoming band events, be able to pay for all
\nneeded band and guard items. Also, we will have 2 public notary there to stamp
\nyour band participation form(attachment). Our band boosters will also let you
\nknow how you can become a volunteer and help the band. It takes a village to
\nrun band!<\/p>\n

\nto include the student\u2019s name and items being purchased in the PayPal message
\nbox.<\/p>\n
\nWhat is Fair Share? As its name implies,
\nit is your band\/color guard member\u2019s fair share of costs that are incurred for
\nhalftime show design expenses, instructor expenses, dry cleaning of uniforms,
\nguard equipment, show props, band lunches, Uhaul truck, special transportation
\netc. Our school district does supplement
\nsome funds for bus transportation, and instruments repair but does not cover
\nall our expenses.<\/p>\n
\nhave band shoes and for those returning who may have outgrown their previous
\nband shoes. (This does not apply to any
\nband student who still fits in their previously purchased shoes.)<\/p>\n
\neach year and the members receive two (2) pairs. We switched gloves and these should hold up
\nmuch better.<\/p>\n

\nofficial events, including football games, competitions, and other scheduled

\nshirts are part of our uniform and are required. FAMILY\/GUARDIANS\/FRIENDS are welcome to

\nselling these basically at cost, this is not a money-maker for us.<\/p>\n
\noffering our classic Band hoodie as an optional purchase this season(only sold
\nevery other year). Students can choose between a zip-up or pullover style. Each
\nhoodie will be embroidered with the student\u2019s name and instrument, making it a
\npersonalized and practical keepsake to show off your band pride.<\/p>\n
\nthe USF vs SC State which will be televised on ESPN +. This memorable
\nexperience includes admission and participation in the event. Chaperones will
\nbe needed.<\/p>\n
