It\u2019s the beginning of the 2nd semester with new band adventures! For the next two months we will be getting ready for our Florida Bandmasters Association (FBA), Music Performance Assessments (MPA). After receiving a Superior at the Marching Performance Assessment in November we are aiming for a Grand Slam by earning Superiors at all these events! To help you with your planning please include these dates to your calendar:<\/p>\n
Mondays & Thursdays<\/strong> – Solo\/Ensemble Practice and Color Guard practice January 20th – All-County Band Concert @ River Ridge HS<\/strong> January 26th – Symphonic Band rehearsals resume<\/strong> February 8th \u2013 Jazz MPA @ River Ridge High School<\/strong> February 10th and 11th \u2013 Solo\/Ensemble\/Percussion MPA @ J.W. Mitchel HS<\/strong> February 10th and 11th \u2013 Indoor Guard and Guard Solo MPA @ J.W. Mitchel HS<\/strong> March 2nd- 3rd \u2013 Concert MPA River Ridge HS (chaperones needed)<\/strong> All the MPA events are open to the public and you will definitely want to come watch and support these fine performers! It\u2019s only been 3 days since we are back and I\u2019m very excited by what I\u2019m hearing and seeing! \nOur color guard will resume practice from 1:45 \u2013 3:45. Music students performing a solo or an ensemble may practice and receive help from 1:30pm \u2013 2:30pm<\/p>\n
\nCome support Drew and Lilli as they perform with the All County Band Concert at River Ridge High School. Concert start time is 2pm.<\/p>\n
\nMonday and Thursday from 1:45pm \u2013 3:45pm.<\/p>\n
\nWe are already on a fantastic and exciting start! You will need to find your own transportation to River Ridge HS. Times will be announced at a later date. We will be wearing our red jazz shirt and black pants.<\/p>\n
\nStudents wishing to perform a solo and\/or ensemble will need to pay $5 dollars per entry fee with a maximum of 4 entries, due January 13th. All soloists will need a piano accompanist. Luckily we have Mrs. Deighton who will teach and provide the piano accompaniment. Her fee is $40 dollars which incudes, 2-3 lessons and the performance. Please pay her at the very latest at the performance. You will need to find your own transportation to J.W. Mitchel. Times will be announced at a later date.<\/p>\n
\nStudents wishing to perform a solo will need to pay $5 dollars, due January 13th. Performance will take place in the gym and everyone is invited to cheer our Class Act Guard! More info will be shared as we get closer to the date.<\/p>\n
\nThis will be a concert you won\u2019t want to miss We will take a bus there and students will need to wear their black concert attire. More info will be shared as we get closer to the date.<\/p>\n
