Community Service

Community service is required for all Florida Bright Futures Scholarships.  Gold Seal- 30 hours, Florida Medallion-75 hours and Florida Academic Scholars- 100.  Please read the community service guidelines below and then download the authorization form to be sure your hours are approved BEFORE you start.  These documents are also available in Student Services. Beginning July 1, 2022, students may submit proof of employment from an employer with an established Federal ID number. The requirement for paid work is 100 hours for each of the three Bright Futures Scholarships. Students may not combine community service and work hours for the purpose of meeting Bright Futures requirements. Please see the Bright Futures work hours form below.

Hours for Florida Bright Futures Scholarships must be submitted before graduation. It is recommended to have all hours completed by the end of the first semester of senior year so the student’s 7th semester evaluation from Bright Futures is positive.
