Mr. Snyder Mrs. Ferguson Mrs. Druschel,
We are committed to encouraging, supporting and empowering our students to become lifelong learners. Our primary task is to help students by providing a counseling program that meets their academic, personal/social and career development needs.
We will be meeting with students individually and in small groups as needed, conducting classroom lessons and collaborating and working as a team with parents and staff. Support can be provided, but the role of the school counselor is not to diagnose or provide therapy. In such cases, resources outside of the school system are necessary. We are happy to provide you with a list of community resources (licensed mental health counselors) if needed. We are able to provide temporary/short term support to help students to overcome problems that impact their school performance. Confidentiality is respected unless the student plans on hurting themselves, hurting someone else or someone is hurting them. If your child wants support, the student can ask the teacher to see their School Counselor or the student can reach out by email and make an appointment.
We look forward to working with your child and having a great school year.
