After a player is removed from batting order, he\/she may not re-enter<\/p>\n<p><b>Team Sportsmanship Policy:<\/b> (Per Game Policy)**<\/p>\n<p>-1st Occurrence &#8211; Issuing of warning to team\/bench<\/p>\n<p>-2nd Occurrence &#8211; Player Ejected &#8211; Automatic suspension of 3 games<\/p>\n<p>-3rd Occurrence &#8211; Team Forfeit<\/p>\n<p>**Please understand umpires have full discretion to report any players who are disrupting games to the City of Tampa. The city athletic office then has the authority to prevent anyone in the league from using the facility to participate or spectate.<\/p>\n<p><b>Eligible Players<\/b>:<\/p>\n<p>-DSBPC Employees\/spouses\/significant others<\/p>\n<p>-DSBPC Employees\/spouses\/significant others who work at locations not part of the league (5 total any gender ratio)<\/p>\n<p>-Interns are eligible if the following criteria is met:<\/p>\n<div>-Final Interns working in the current spring semester<\/div>\n<div>-Must be listed on eligibility form<\/div>\n<div>-Be able to provide proof of current internship<\/div>\n<div>-No spouses\/significant others of interns<\/div>\n<p>-Playoff eligibility requires players to play in at least two of teams regular season games.<\/p>\n<p>-Team captain will submit roster with amount of games played for each player<\/p>\n<p><strong>-Playoff Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>-To be eligible for playoffs, each player must play in a minimum of two regular season games.<\/p>\n<p>-Players can only play for one team in playoffs<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<b>Drafting<\/b>: If a team cannot field a team of 10 players, they may \u201cdraft\u201d players already on teams for the regular season to fill their roster to minimum standards of play. (they are NOT eligible to play on that team during the playoffs)<\/p>\n<p><b>Minimum # of Players<\/b>: Eight to start game; Ten maximum; Opposing team must provide out of play catcher if asked<\/p>\n<p><b>Minimum Age<\/b>: No players under 18<\/p>\n<p><b>Count<\/b><b>: <\/b>All batters start with one strike and one ball<\/p>\n<p><b>Pitching<\/b>: No trick pitches allowed<\/p>\n<p><b>Game Length<\/b>: 60 Minutes (Five Games Per Night)<\/p>\n<p>-Play until 60 Minutes or 7 Innings<\/p>\n<p><b>Grace Period<\/b>:\u00a0 Each team is allowed a 5 minute grace period after the scheduled start of the game.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Home Runs Rule at 200ft. Field:<\/strong> If team one hits a home run, the other team can match. \u00a0If team one hits another BEFORE team two, then it is an automatic out.\u00a0 If team two matches, they can hit another until Team One matches. Girls can hit unlimited home runs. \u00a0Those who hit home runs should ONLY touch first base.<\/p>\n<p><b>Ties<\/b>: If game is tied after 60 minutes and home team had last at-bat then game will end in tie<\/p>\n<p>-If tied at end of time period during playoffs, inning will be completed. \u00a0If still tied, teams will play a Texas Tie Breaker (A one inning tie breaker (as many needed to determine a winner) with a runner starting on second base at the beginning of each half inning, with no outs). \u00a0Runner must be opposite sex of first batter. \u00a0Teams must continue their batting order where left off at end of regulation time period.\u00a0 Runner on 2nd must be the last out made of that gender.<\/p>\n<p>-If game is not tied as time expires during playoffs, and home team is behind and has not completed their at bats, we will revert to score of previous inning.<\/p>\n<p><strong>New Inning:<\/strong> A new inning will not start after 60 minute mark of game. Any inning that is already started will be finished unless home team is ahead and visitors have completed their half of the inning<\/p>\n<p><b>Courtesy Runner:<\/b> One courtesy runner per half inning may be used.<\/p>\n<p>-Must be same sex and the previous out made<\/p>\n<p>-Can be used for a runner on any base<\/p>\n<p>-If you use your courtesy runner and you subsequently require use of another one during the same half inning, team will be charged an out if player is unable to run the base.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pitching Rubber:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>-Closest rubber to the plate will be used; although pitcher can choose to pitch from other rubber if preferred.<\/p>\n<p><b>Walks<\/b>:<\/p>\n<p>-If a male batter is walked, he advances to second. \u00a0The following female has the option of taking first<\/p>\n<p>or hitting.<\/p>\n<p><b>Ball<\/b>: Yellow 12&#8242; Incrediball will be used for men (leather cover, not cloth &#8211; regulation Yellow 12&#8242; yellow softball for women (52\/300 Compression), brand does not matter<\/p>\n<p><b><i>Each team must provide one set of game balls to the umpire prior to the start<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><i>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 of the game.\u00a0 If team is unable to provide a set of game balls, they forfeit<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><i>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 the right to be the home team.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Home Team<\/b>:\u00a0 Determined by schedule, higher seed for post-season<\/p>\n<p><b>Infield Fly Rule<\/b>: Applies when there is runners on 1st and 2<sup>nd<\/sup>, or 1<sup>st<\/sup>, 2<sup>nd<\/sup>, &amp; 3<sup>rd<\/sup>\u00a0 with less than two outs<\/p>\n<p>-Fly ball must be in infield only (no foul balls &#8211; Male or Female)<\/p>\n<p>-Batter is out (runners may advance at own risk)<\/p>\n<p><b>Substitutions<\/b>:\u00a0 Players may enter and re-enter the field at any time<\/p>\n<p>-# of players hitting: Teams may bat as many people as are present in dugout<\/p>\n<p>-If consecutive men bat an out is charged with the at-bat of the second male<\/p>\n<p>-Players do not have to be in the field to be in the batting order<\/p>\n<p><b>Fouls<\/b>: After two strikes, the batter receives one courtesy foul<\/p>\n<p><strong>Faking\/Deeking Baserunners:\u00a0<\/strong>Fielders are not permitted to fake or deek baserunners<\/p>\n<p><b>Arc<\/b>: All pitched balls must be thrown with an arc (slow-pitch)<\/p>\n<p>-Players should not swing at flat and\/or fast pitches<\/p>\n<p>-No trick pitches<\/p>\n<p><b>Tagging Up<\/b>:\u00a0 Players may advance by tagging up from any base (foul balls included)<\/p>\n<p><b>Infield\/Outfield Alignment<\/b>: To earn a win there must the following at all times<\/p>\n<p>-One Female in the battery<\/p>\n<p>-Two Women in the infield<\/p>\n<p>-Two Women in the outfield<\/p>\n<p>-If a team is playing with eight or nine players the male to female ratio can<\/p>\n<p>be 2:1 in the outfield only<\/p>\n<p>-Outfielders cannot make outs in the infield unless covering a base after ball<\/p>\n<p>is hit into the outfield<\/p>\n<p>-4 women must be on the field at all times***<\/p>\n<p>-Teams may shift\u00a0 with the above requirements however they like***<\/p>\n<p><b>Forfeit Rules<\/b>:\u00a0 Forfeiting team charged five runs against and zero for<\/p>\n<p>-Team that wins by forfeit charged zero runs against and five runs for<\/p>\n<p><strong>Equipment:\u00a0<\/strong>All equipment must be ASA compliant. Umpires have the right to enforce. No metal spikes.<\/p>\n<p><b>Mercy Rule<\/b>: After 5 complete innings, half of inning is over if one team scores five runs in their half of the inning and they are leading by 10 or more runs.\u00a0 Captains can waive this rule at their discretion and complete the game.\u00a0 Both captains must agree.<\/p>\n<p>Official Games:<\/p>\n<p>-Game is official after four innings (home team must get last ups)<\/p>\n<p>-Game length is determined by starting time, not the scheduled time of game<\/p>\n<p><b>Foul Tips<\/b>:\u00a0 Batter can only be out on a foul tip if the ball is higher than the batters head and there are less than two strikes<\/p>\n<p>-With two strikes batter is out if catcher catches the ball, regardless of height<\/p>\n<p><b>Overthrows<\/b>:\u00a0 Runner may only advance one base if ball goes into dugout\u00a0 (even if\u00a0 it comes back out<\/p>\n<p>-Maximum of two bases on any overthrow that does not enter a dugout<\/p>\n<p><b>No Bunting is permitted<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Outfield Markers<\/b>:\u00a0 For female hitters only.\u00a0 Outfielders cannot move past the markers in the outfield until the ball is hit. Markers should be lined up with the white holes in the outfield where the temporary fencing goes for youth games.<\/p>\n<p><b>Flexibility<\/b>:\u00a0 Keep in mind rules can be adjusted throughout the season as not every contingency can be accounted for<\/p>\n<p><b>Ground Rules<\/b>:<\/p>\n<p>Foul balls cannot be caught for an out off any wire, fence, or building<\/p>\n<p><b>Game Results\/Posting Scores<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Winning team please post score to Quick Scores League Site by one hour after game ends. Losing team, please check score and email opposing captain and myself if any discrepancy<\/p>\n<p><b>Team Dues<\/b><\/p>\n<p>-Season Dues information available on website link<\/p>\n<p>-Money to be used for: *Trophy\/Lights\/Field Rental<\/p>\n<p>-Trophy Engraving is responsibility of winning team<\/p>\n<p><b>Rain-outs\/Forfeits<\/b><\/p>\n<p>-Forfeits may not be made up<\/p>\n<p>-Please call opposing team captain the day prior to forfeit<\/p>\n<p>-If any of the fields are no longer available because of rain-outs and games can no<\/p>\n<p>longer be scheduled, the team with the best record in their division will be the winner, regardless of how many games were played or any other tie breaker<\/p>\n<p>-Winning team by forfeit is charged five runs against<\/p>\n<p>-Losing team by forfeit is charged eight runs against<\/p>\n<p><b>League Title<\/b>***<\/p>\n<p>We are using an 6 game \u201cregular-season\u201d with each team qualifying for the playoffs<\/p>\n<p>Teams are seeded based on record in their division during regular season,<\/p>\n<p>Tie-breakers<\/p>\n<p>*Head-to-Head\/*Division Record\/*Runs Against (Fewest allowed)\/*Runs For (Total runs scored)<\/p>\n<p>Single-elimination playoffs<\/p>\n<p>Winners from each division will play for the trophy<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Team Trophy<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Winning team earns right to keep trophy until start of next year&#8217;s post-season, at which time it will be returned.<\/p>\n<p><b>Game Schedules<\/b><\/p>\n<p>All games 60 minutes<\/p>\n<p>6 regular season and two playoff rounds<\/p>\n<p>Three games scheduled per night at New Tampa Recreation Center<\/p>\n<p><b>Disputes<\/b><\/p>\n<p>-Any issue regarding rules will be brought to the attention of team captains who will vote on the issue, jury of appeals can be formed if absolutely necessary.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Batting Order: Alternate Boy\/Girl as numbers dictate, between innings as well.
