High Impact Instruction

Professional Learning Communities will collaboratively plan for student learning experiences and formative assessments that match the rigor of the standards and incorporate the Core Actions for ELA and Math.

  • Creation of Common Formative Assessments
  • Pre-planning of Interventions concurrently with Core Instruction
  • Ongoing tracking of standards mastery
  • Professional Learning Community Toolkit

Data Driven Decisions

Professional Learning Communities will use data to develop and monitor targeted supplemental interventions (Tiers 2 and 3) for students in need of additional support to reach English Language Arts grade level standards.

  • Build research-based resource bank for academic and behavior interventions
  • Collection and progress monitoring of Tier 2 data by grade level
  • Creation of grade level action plans focused on one academic area
  • Progress monitor on-going tracking device

Collaborative Culture

Student and parental engagement efforts will be initiated to improve student attendance.

  • Use of MindUp social skills program
  • Monthly family fun nights
  • Daily class meetings
  • Creation of “Team Watchlist” Committee to monitor student behavior, attendance, and course work. Interventions will also be created and monitored within this group.
