High Impact Instruction

Together we will create standards-focused, rigorous learning experiences in student-driven classrooms.

  • LATIC: Teacher as facilitator: Together we will have conversations with students to probe open ended, higher-order thinking aligned with the standards to gather data to instruct and connect with students.
  • LATIC: Problem-Based Learning: Together we will intentionally plan for teaching and learning of grade-level standards. We will implement open ended, higher-order thinking instructional strategies that help students achieve the rigor of the standards.
  1. Math standards and Number Talks
  2. ELA/STEM tasks with ReadyGEN / IRLA
  3. Technology Integration – Canvas

Data Driven Decisions

Together we will intentionally plan for multi-tiered systems of support for ALL students to meet grade-level standards, based on data.

  • MTSS: PLC teams will review core (Tier 1) data at every PLC to inform core instructional needs, differentiation and plan for flexible small groups needing supplemental intervention to meet grade-level standards.
  • MTSS: Every other PLC, teams will review supplemental intervention (Tier 2) data to discuss students meeting/not meeting grade level standard expectations, review the performance of these groups, and develop plans for students needing targeted intervention (Tier 3).
  1. Tier 1 Facilitation Grid and Differentiation
  2. Tier 2 SGML and Data Collection / PS Systems

Collaborative Culture

Together we will actively participate in building a collaborative school community.

  • Together we will establish a school mission based on our collective core values that maintain a safe, hopeful learning environment for staff and students.
  • Together we will be champions for our Cubs through PRIDE Partners and PRIDE Pals.
  • Together we will plan for monthly opportunities to include our families in our students’ learning and celebrations.
  1. Building and Living our Vision/Mission
  2. Building High Social Capital
  3. Family PRIDE Nights
