Students just can’t get enough of a good thing! HMS DELTA Academy is doing amazing things with academic/enrichment activities and students are telling their friends. With recent staff bringing fresh ideas and excitement to the program in a unique and fun manner, students are experiencing project-based learning in a whole new way!
HMS DELTA Academy is led by the brilliant team of Zac Scott, Site Coordinator and Maria Diaz, Assistant Site Coordinator. Rhonda Starr-Odajewski is a veteran teacher at HMS that also serves in an additional duty role to bring even more flare and spice to lessons within the DELTA program. The three work together to create a comfortable, warm environment that delivers creative and engaging lessons in Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math (STEM).
Most recently, the group received an excellent evaluation as students participated in rocket design, explored microscopic specimens, and worked to code and design components of a video game, just to name a few. There is no wonder as to why students keep coming back for more! They have so much fun without even realizing that they are learning along the way. We can’t wait to see what HMS DELTA Academy will be up to for their Summer DELTA Program! A few open spots are still available, but going fast…Stop by and check it out! You will be amazed. 😊

So proud of my students. They made travel brochures to go along with the planets they chose. They work so hard. Go Cougars!

Dear Parent(s):
The PLACE Program (Pasco Learning and Activity Centers of Enrichment) is the District School Board of Pasco County’s before and after school enrichment program which is designed to provide an active and enriching environment for children who must arrive at school early, stay late, and/or require supervised activities during school holidays. Presently, PLACE is limited to elementary age children in kindergarten through grade five.

The PLACE program strives to meet the needs of the families and schools in our community. In order to do this, we are requesting your input regarding the possibility of expanding our services to the following two schools:
Charles S. Rushe Middle School
River Ridge Middle School

The program may include, but is not limited to life skills, STEAM activities, homework assistance, special interest clubs and recreational activities. The estimated cost of a middle school program would include a $25.00 annual registration fee and a weekly tuition fee of no less than $50 per student. The final cost has yet to be determined, as the program must be totally fee supported. In order to open a program, there must be sufficient enrollment in order for the program to be financially sustainable.

If you are interested in an afterschool program being offered at Charles S. Rushe Middle School or River Ridge Middle School for the 2018-2019 school year please click on the link listed below for the school of your choice.
